WEEK 1: Activity #3 - "video" link

One outstanding link that made me think included 50 tools to tell a story online:

No, there is no run error.

It is a page with many hyperlinks.

Some of the (video) links are no longer, but each video/audio/visual presentation embedded above is its own version of the author's simple Dominoe dog story.  Check out the second link.  While it is nothing to bark about, it would help a Really Terrific Instructor or Star-studded student individualize products and tools based on  technological readiness and interest for a real, online audience!

WEEK 1: Activity #2 - What is Web 2.0 and (Why) Does it Matter?

RtI - Really Terrific Instruction goes Hey -Wire with the Web!

Activity #2 - What is Web 2.0 and (Why) Does it Matter?  challenged us to question the quick and snow-balling effects of online social connection.   The internet and technology can contribute to the sharpening of minds into a Web 2.0 world in which we and our children may be as quickly be left behind if we teachers do not start utilizing young America's creative talents and 16 hours/week of online tool savvy for more than shout-outs with BigMac Drive Through Rap or rants about why others should accept one's ignorant beliefs (you actually needs a link for that?).

I was overwhelmed by the information, the fast-paced format, and the urgency of the videos claiming that America's teachers have an obligation to empower our students in an educated- "space race" with other developing nations.  Where the videos frightened me, the Day in the Life of Web 2.0 effectively modeled the values of communication, individualization, and motivation available through effectively used web tools.  The combined videos and reading convinced me to use-it-or-lost-it with this creative and easily-individualized possibility.

WEEK 1: Activity #1 - Reflections on Lifelong Learning

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I, RICHENDA-jOY! Technology-PETERSEN am blogging.
Before you start taking pictures of your screen and selling them on Amazon.com, or better yet, a more seedily undiscovered spot as something with the pecuniary value of flying donkeys or Jesus-emblazaoned toast, let me preface that this mega-miracle is only possible under the saintly leadership of a district Web 2.0 Learning Tools guru and her web-course guide... and a large iced Dunkin Donuts coffee.

ACTIVITY #1- Watch a Voicethread.com presentation on 7 1/2 Habits of Lifelong Learners, leaving three comments on three separate pages by cellphone:

1. The most challenging part of this District 113 Web Learning 2.0 experience will be the trait of using technology to my own advantage. Considering I couldn't tell of megabyte of difference between the userface of hotmail and that of gmail, let alone remember my username or to check my school email daily over summer break, you may to do a FN+PRNT SCRN and save it to iCloud as fast as you can!

2.The easiest habits to profess lifelong learning will be improving my own toolbox and  mentoring/teaching.  It may just take LIFE- long, but when I do learn and something useful, I am excited enough to show the content-teachers with whom I have co-taught, or make up an activity to share with my own department... the blog may just become my way to review without the time to collaborate in person with my position change to AEP (Alternative Education Program).

3. In order to keep uploading and finish the course (my goal, in apprenticing the 1st habit of Begin with the end  in mind) I will have to have more confidence in myself as a competent, effective learner.  Though I struggle with every bit, neither my computer or I have overun our RAM yet!
